I am 17 years old and I just started YAZ about 2 weeks ago. I got my period 2 days before starting YAZ, and it is still going.. I started YAZ for acne control and regulation of my periods as they typically last up to 7-8 days. However now I am up to 16 days of menstrating. Is this normal?

Breakthrough bleeding is very common when first starting birth control pills.

If it doesn't stop within three months or becomes far too annoying for you, then go back to your doctor to switch pills because the hormone dosage may not be right for you.

Most birth control pills will have the same positive side effects (regulating periods, acne control...) as Yaz.

I would see your doctor. The pill may not be very effective if breakthrough bleeding lasts longer than a week.
I've heard a week is long as it is.

Breakthrough bleeding does not mean the pill is less effective.
