i was diagnosed with mononucleosis in November and its now January..i was told by my doctor that i could have had it for years and its jst kciking in now...and i want to know if its still contagious, i dont want to pass it onto my boyfriend...but my doctor said that there is no way of telling if i am contagious or not....my symptoms have been gone for 3-4 weeks. i need to know if im contagious..i havent been able to sleep cause im terrified to spread it to him...Please help!!

There is not a certain period after which you will not be contagious. There are certain studies that show that mononucleosis can be spread even 18 months after the symptoms have disappeared. However, the possibility that you might pass it to someone else is strongest when the symptoms are present and diminishes gradually as the time passes.
