I have been having issues since january of this year, and the issue has escalated quite a bit within the past 2 months.

In january it started when I was sick.. I figured just a stomach bug the first time it happened.. or i ate something that didn't agree with me... I thought It was the latter because it started with really foul burping for about a day and a half, I would burp these burps that smelled... well, like they should have been farts... I found this odd, but figured I ate something that just burped up nasty that way.... Then I got sick and vomited until I couldn't vomit anymore. Then I was fine til the next day when the same thing happened again. I chalked it up to a bug and went on with things... a few weeks later same thing... same stinky burps, same upset/sour stomach same vomiting... I noted the next time that my vomit smelled much like feces. I found that fecal vomiting was a real thing online and got concerned and called the dr. Dr said go into er.. i did... @ ER they said I was severely constipated and gave me an enema then sent me home with a bottle of magnesium citrate to drink.

the hospital and dr told me to take metamucil or a fiber supplement (even though I am a strict vegan and eat pretty much only fiber.. i found this odd)

Everything was ok until some time next month... same thing... I hadn't noted unusual infrequency in bowel movements etc. But then all of a sudden same thing... Now for some reason this would happen, often, after we would get pizza... maybe because its a heavier meal than i usually eat? I had never had issues with pizza before (the first time was after having pasta, though.. )I don't know.. I started to think maybe it was the pizza place... so we switched... I should note I am vegan and always get cheeseless all veggie on pizza...

so i recall maybe once in february then at least once or twice in march... I noted more issues with just general feelings of constipation within the month of april.. it seemed i would get constipated and if it didn't get out.. it would come up and i would start vomiting... but wasn't always consistant.. like the one time i would vomit the same day i earlier had BM....

April and may weren't marked with many issues at all.. i thought the issue had worked its way out on its own.. until june when it got really bad

Since the start of june i am sick every 3-10 days
Every episode starts the same... I get the foul burps followed by stomach pain, followed by vomiting... the vomit smells extra foul.. mostly like feces... I vomit til every thing is out.. usually until I vomit bile.. then my tummy hurts... i sleep a few hours and feel fine...

bowel movements in between episodes are infrequent compared to my normal bowel habits before all this started. I used to poop at least once or more a day... now i am EXTREMELY lucky if i have 3 in a week.. and when I do they are usually painful, soft, and thin

I haven't been able to figure a trend on what I have eaten.. It used to be I would get sick after a few days of no bowel movements but now that isn't always consistant. I was sick yesterday after having two big BMs the day before (very painful ones) but they were bowl fillers... i noted yesterday that there was a lot of bile mixed with the night before's tater tots... the vomit seems like it is hard to get up.. like it is deep deep down in digestive tract....

I have had a lot of feelings of rectal pressure... sometimes severe pain when I sit...

I have been drinking prune juice and eating prunes regulary the last few weeks... in hopes it would help... I am less constipated.. but still getting sick.. i quit drinking the prune juice and just eating prunes because i seemed to get sick to my stomach more often after drinking the prune juice

Here is other information...

so far I have had one xray that showed "thickening of intestinal walls" subsequent xray only showed "constipation", i was told..

the first xray prompted them to send me for ct scan... (unfortunately i had an allergic reaction to dye for scan!) Anyway ct scan noted nothing intestinal... but showed enlarged uterus... for which my genecologist followed up with a pelvic ultrasound today ( i won't hear back on that for a couple weeks)..

I will get to see a GI specialist next month... (unfortunately, it takes that long to get into the specialist)

today i have had severe back pain.. some rectal pressure and what feels kind of like cervical pressure.. (like my cervix hurts).... Not sure why my cervix hurts.. but i have had that a few times along with the rectal pressure in the past..

i guess i am posting on here because i am frustrated with this ongoing saga.. i don't know what is wrong and its driving me nuts!!!

You can request colonoscopy to see if there is really something wrong with your large intestines. X-ray, ultrasound and CT-scan are not enough to reveal all the issues about large intestines. Gastroscopy is requested to explore the stomach and duodenum.
You can consult the gastroenterologist about this.

thank you for advice...
i will be seeing a GI specialist next month... I will ask for a colonoscopy at that time... I am also going to ask about testing for celiac disease... In case it is a gluten sensitivity. I started taking probiotics hoping that would help... but I haven't seen an improvement as I was sick again over the weekend.

Thanks for the advice Smile

Celiac disease (gluten enteropathy) is a kind of autoimmune disorder that affects the intestinal mucosa. It is provoked by gluten (protein from the food). Celiac disease can be assumed with specific blood tests but can be proven only with colonoscopy and biopsy.
You are welcome in any time.

thanks again for the info on celiac
I didn't realize celiac can be proven with colonoscopy and biopsy... and again, i thank you for being so informative...

I woke this morning with my arms itching and burning and they were all red.. I am starting to get blistery bumps... I had a reaction like this early in the month.. we thought it was an allergic reaction to dye for CT Scan.. Now that I am having the same thing, I find myself wondering if this rash can be related to my other issues (as I cannot come up with anything different I have done or ingested)... I of course will call the doctor today to see her because the rash is progressively getting worse as the day goes on... Sad

That rash could be an allergic reaction to some food you have ingested. It is hard to say if this rash is related to your digestive problems. It is true that many primary digestive disorders (celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, parasitic infections...) can also cause skin rash.

Extremely eHealthy
I wondered why she haven't had a colonoscopy yet.. hope ultrasound goes okay and there is nothing serious. After seeing discovery health so much I have learned that if your current physician doesn't seem to find a cure it is better to change doctorsto get to the bottom line. Not all doctors have the answers.

my insurance stinks
nightangel73, I haven't had a colonoscopy yet because my insurance stinks.. and my first family dr. didn't really listen or seem to care... So I had to switch primary care physician, then wait for insurance to approve the other tests and the referral to the specialist.. apparently the GI specialist needs to order colonoscopy.. I think my insurance prefers that or something...

It just boils down to my insurance being crap. My husband's employer switched his insurance a couple years ago and the new provider requires a lot of red tape for tests and such Sad

deeply efficting my life
well when you find out what it is let me know i seem to have the exact problem, i take a acid controler that helps alittle for the burning but i still violently vomit it seems to worsen when i drink fluids I can count on vomiting everytime i drink even alittle water I sometimes wonder where all that was stored to vomit that much and also the other thing is I eat very little mostly because i dont want to get sick and i think i should be very thin cause i dont eat much but im heavy. one other question I was wondering if a history of anerexia and belima and being malnutritioned could be a factor to this problem also cronic anemia 3 things i have had and have. thanks lisa

share thoughts
my dear:
I have that problem with my duaghter, she is 7 and she can not tell me what hurts her, but she will vomit the same as you.and she doesnot eat or drink properly
I have tried giving her a cup of water, or a mild ginger tea drink in the morning when she wakes up & don't give her food for an hour.
at night she will not eat after 7 P.M.
this is helping a little. still we have episodes of throwing up, mostly at night & if we push her to eat or drink after 7.
I pray that you feel better, knowing how painful it is .
god bless

so now im looking into a digestive problem.
my parents dont really help me and the doctors ive been to arent giving me any good advice..
so im like stuck, with stomach pains and vomitting every other day. its stressfull, i also get head aches that last about 3 days.

severe bowel cramping and vomiting and headaches
I did online research and it seems they want to label it
Irritated Bowel Syndrom (IBS) and rack it all up to nerves.
I have similar symptoms and am trying now, just to take
time whenever I remember and relax and sort of meditate.
I know I've been way tense because of the first week
of my disease - I vomited for a week. The worst pain
in my life. (worse than having a baby)
