Q: Constipation - helicabacter pylori side effect ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 1st, 2009
Please help urgent!!

I've been having constipation since as far back as I can remember it's nothing unusual for me! Recetly it's become increasingly difficult to go. Small round pebbles in appearance sometimes covered in White mucus, pain shooting through my anus, abdo pains, constant cramping, smelly breathe, indigestion, heartburn. I went to my gp who suggested I gave a sigmoidscopy. I have had a xeay but it showed everything was normal, my blood tests were normal apart from my iron was low total 7. But I'm not anaemic.

I have had helicabacter pylori about a year ago but took some antibiotics but never finished the course. Could this ve it?

I'm sooo worried about colon cancer I tick all the boxes for symptoms, my grandad had colon cancer at 73 and survived. I'm so scared I've got it.

My doctor said it was collitus but Ive not been having diareeah! How can my GP say that?? I am convinced I've got colon cancer!help!!

Most cases of constipation are not caused by colon cancer. However, the most accurate test for making or excluding the diagnosis of colorectal cancer is a colonoscopy. (You are correct, colitis does not cause constipation.)
