I am 16 year old girl and for the past week I have had the constant urge to urinate even after just going to the toilet. I thought it was the start of a UTI because I have had two in the last 4 months but my results came back clear. My Doctor has given me Trimethoprim to take anyway to see if it helps. I am going out of my mind. Its ruinning my life, I cant do anything because I am scared incase I wet myself.
There is no pain, although if I havent drank alot of fuilds it does burn when am urinating.
Does anybody have any ideas what this could be?

Honey, a lot of this can play on your mind...If you have tested and are clear of any infections, play another game with yourself...When you think you have to go, squeeze your kegel muscles together...This is the exercise for doing it:

"First, as you are sitting or lying down, try to contract the muscles you would use to stop urinating. You should feel your pelvic muscles squeezing your urethra and anus. If your stomach or buttocks muscles tighten, you are not exercising the right muscles.

When you've found the right way to contract the pelvic muscles, squeeze for 3 seconds and then relax for 3 seconds.

Repeat this exercise 10 to 15 times per session. Try to do this at least 3 times a day. Kegel exercises are only effective when done regularly. The more you exercise, the more likely it is that the exercises will help."

This has helped me and hopefully it will help you too...Good luck...

Have you been tested for other possible infections, especially since you have the burning sensation?

Yes. I get the results on Monday although since I am on Antibitoics (which arent helping) apperntly it can mess the test up. I have also started to get pain in my lower back.

I'm sorry as I thought you already had the tests back...It does sound like a UTI...If this continues see a specialist...Watch for any blood in your urine or if it is cloudy...If I were you I would look into this further...See an Urologist and really be checked out...It could be either Kidney or Bladder...

Since you have had recurring UTIs, has your doctor discussed ways to prevent them, such as drinking plenty of fluids, drinking cranberry juice, urinating before and asap after sex, wiping front to back when using the bathroom, not wearing irritating feminine products, etc? These measures won't cure a UTI, but they can help prevent them in the future.

I now have pain in my lower back, and still have the constant urge to urinate 24/7 but there is no pain when I urinate unless I havent drank much. I had one UTI test done and it got sent to the lab and apperently it was boredline so thats why my Doctor give me Antibitoics but they arent making any difference. I then did another sample which I get the results to on Monday but since I have been taken antibiotcs they might not come up right. I have a doctors appoinment on Wednesday but am now worried incase she says its all in my head. I am also not a virgin if that makes a difference, although I only had sex with one person, we dont use protection, but he is clean and I am on the pill.

Get a PaP, read below
GIRLINNEED ,
but how many ppl has he been with, sex comes with baggage sometimes, if that person has had sex before and you havn't , you are exposed to all the viral and bacterial std's he may or may not have known about.
protect yourself until the day you know, that he is the one. i have seen to many girls whom have been taken down a life altering path because their boyfriend did not want to wear protection.
Here is the honest truth, if he loves you, he will.
Also you are complaining about pain in your lower back, this could be a kidney stone to a eptopic pregancy, just because your on the pill does not mean you cant get pregnant.
I would continue to see your physician and maybe ask to see a specialist if she does not relieve the problem, as a doctor i get red flags when anyone says backpain, stomach pain, chest pain. all of these area's our vital to our bodies survival. make sure you keep taking care of yourself.
