What do I do. My doctor suggested I start a lifelong regimen of valium, oxycodiene and yoga. I have had two sinus operations for chronic infection and adhesions.

I cough and snore at night. I cough and have to excuse myslf from meetings constantly to gag. This has been going on over 24 months. I now have polyps.

I take prednisone, sudafed, guafensensein, lisinoprol (because lack of sleep raises the b.p.) ibupofren or aspirin. Tried generic valium, doesn't do a thing. I have kids and aging parents, I cant take drugs.

Valium? Do you get anxiety about it or something? Otherwise, how would that help? Also, why all the pain-killers?

Also, sometimes decongestants (the sudafed) can be habit-forming and can actually bring the problem back on, continuing the cycle. The sudafed reduces the congestion, then when it wears off, the congestion surges back, sometimes even worse than before. That's why those decongestant nasal-sprays are like liquid crack for allergies (never start those, by the way! Trust me. Just say no!). Do you have a congestion problem or is it a drainage problem?

I assume you already see an ENT, rather than just your regular doctor. Do you have allergies? Have you seen an allergist or taken any allergy meds besides the sudafed?
