Q: Constant need to urinate - painless
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 13th, 2009
For the last week I have had a constant need to urinate! Before bed I need to go at least three times, even when I have just been I need to go again. I have no pain in my abdomen, it doesn't sting, there are no other symptoms. Could it be a urinary tract infection?

There are several possible causes for frequent urination: urinary tract infection, diabetes type 2, urine incontinence, bedwetting in children, benign prostatic hyperplasia in men and pregnancy in women (the last considered physiological rather than pathological).
You might want to visit your family doctor for physical exam and laboratory blood and urine tests for diabetes and urinary tract infection.
