Hi, I am 19 years old and I usually get severe period pain, but after my last period finished 2 weeks ago the period pain just got worse and migrated to the right hand side. It is constant and in the last three days I have also noticed excess (white) discharge which is not normal for me.

On top of the pain I have been feeling generally unwell, weak and extremely tired. I do not have a fever or any cold or flu symptoms.

I had my appendix removed 3 months ago, and whilst they were in there they also checked my reproductive organs and said everything looked fine. Apart from when I had appendicitis I have no other medical complications.

I am not pregnant, and I am not sexually active (apart from being raped twice in the last two years).

I am embarressed to go to my GP as I feel that they will think I am wasting their time with something so silly. Any Idea's??

Any help is very appreciated.

Hi there, You're gp should not think you're silly, but rather sensible- as its best to go as early as you can incase something more serious is a problem. The sooner you get seen the better the prognosis & you wont have to keep worrying Or keep putting up with the pain-as gp at least will sort something out with the pain side & maybe refer you to gaeno to be safe and help you to the fullest. Make sure you go-it might save you a lot of hassle & your life!I've been bleeding every day for 4 years (minus a handful of days)& just been referred cos i kept putting it off.Wish i'd done it sooner as a weight will be lifted when i see the expert!Hope same for you!!,all the best-kellx
