The first week of August '08 is when I truly experienced my first headache. At first I thought it was due to being in office lighting (I work at home so I'm never in office lighting anymore) and simply turned the lights off. Unfortunately, being in the office was only for 3 days and after that the headache persisted for 2 weeks (starting either around lunchtime or around 3pm and lasting till I finally went to bed). I finally went to the ER where they did a MRI and then sent me home with Prednisone and Amatryptiline (sp?). I immediately found relief with both of those meds, but I also turned into a stone cold person with no personality what-so-ever. As the meds ran dry, the headaches have come back. The doc in the ER had also given me a prescription for Imitrex in case the headaches did come back after I completed the other other meds. I've been using the Imitrex while I wait for my appointment with the neurologist in 2 weeks.
The headaches are more so starting by lunch time now (a few times I've woken up and have pain as well). I am now finding myself falling asleep right after work just because I find relief with sleeping. The pain is mainly present on the right side of my head from middle of head to the front (no pain really in the back of my head). A few times when there is a lot of pain in the front of my head the pain bleeds over to the middle/left side. I am not nauseous, no fevers (I do keep checking), but I am always cold (more so than usual) and my eyes have become sensitive to light. One other thing that I've noticed is that when the headache is present, I get an ulcer in my mouth on my gums in the exact same spot each time. If the headache is dull, the ulcer is slightly present. If the headache is far worse, the ulcer is a nice bulge and you can tell there is puss and blood in it. A few times it has popped because it was so large and blood poured out.
Here are the results from the MRI I had at the end of August. With doing more reading about "secondary headaches" and re-reading my MRI, the word "tumor" just keeps haunting me now. I'm becoming much more anxious for my appointment in two weeks.
Has anyone experienced something similar with similar MRI results?
Thanks in advance!
