Q: Constant headache on right side

My headaches started over 2 weeks ago. They are focused in one spot around my right temple and that spot only (although when the pain gets really bad, my whole head and face hurt). Everyday, sometimes all day long. The pain is not always intense, sometimes just nagging. Sharp and stabbing.

Tylenol wouldn't help. Midrin did nothing. Dorvan (propoxyphene) helped a lot - but really aggrivated my depression.

I have been reading about cluster headaches, but I don't seem to have all the symptoms. I have no history of migraines and no reason to believe that this is a migraine (as there is no light/sound sensitivity). I had a history of strep headaches as a kid - could this be the same thing?

Thanks!!

Extremely eHealthy
Once sided headache at the temple area that appears suddenly over a day or two, or headache that develops gradually over several days or weeks, could be suggestive for temporal arteritis (an inflammation of blood vessels wall, inflammation of temporal artery).
Additional symptoms that develop gradually are scalp tenderness in temple area, pain in jaw joint while eating and talking, visual disturbances like feeling of shade covering the eye, double vision, that may lead to eye blindness.
It is possible to experience some nonspecific symptoms like tiredness, depression, night sweats, loss of appetite, loss of weight and fever, for weeks or even months before developing headache or visual disturbances.

See your physician!
