Constant Cough, when I wake I need to cough and get it up.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I am getting desperate.

Developed a rather nasty cough around 6 weeks ago, doctor put me on a 2 weeks course of anti-biotics which didn't help.

He then places me on a stronger course of anti-biotics for a week which didn not help. I am now constantly coughing up mucus, really nasty sticky white stuff which seems to worsen when I eat and very occassionally tastes butter. It doesn't seem to interupt my sleep but when I wake I need to cough and get it up.

The cough is awful, I feel the rasp or tickle at the back of my throat and immediately begin to cough uncontrollably and then begin to feel rather spaced out sometimes ending in what seems like some kind of leg \ arm spasm or siezure, these are the symptoms that are most worrying and it's an absolutely horrible feeling and has caused me to lose conciousness for a couple of seconds.

My doctor doesn't seem that concerned and I've had to fight for chest x-rays, he just says it's a virus and I have to sit it out. I am not happy with that at all as this condition is really debillitating.

I am getting chest x-ray results this week but I have a feeling they will be normal (as my blood tests which were taken a few weeks ago)

Please if someone is suffering from this or can I help I will be truly grateful.
