I am a 37 soon to be 38 year old male. I have asthma(exercise induced), they tell me I have acid reflux and I also have allergies for which I take meds and get shots. My problem is that I have this severe cough that has been with me for about two weeks. I was sick about a month ago and was on the couch for 6 days. after that the cough never went away. I also have this feeling of tightness around my throat. It is driving me crazy! My throat hurts and it is very hard to have a conversation with anyone. I went to my allergy Dr. and they said see a GI. I went to the GI and he said they will stick a tube through my nose into my stomach for 24 hours! I'm going back to my primary Dr. tommorow and see what he says. I even looked up whooping cough and my cough doesn't sound like that. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks!

You might consider seeing a different Allergist. That doesn't sound right to me. Why would your dr. send you to a GI dr.?? I have had a sore throat for about a year now and recently developed a cough that won't seem to go away ... I also have allergies... including to mold. I happen to work in a building that is over 100 years old and has a lot of leaks. I am thinking it has something to do with mold. I don't know about your situation, but maybe something environmental??
