9months ago after a termination, I started receiving depoprovera injections, for 3months my periods were extremely light and short which suited me well. However for the past 6months the bleeding has become constant, my periods last for around 6weeks, stop for a couple of days then start again. At the beginning and end of my periods, for around 2weeks at a time, the discolouration is of a dark brown/black and the bleeding is no longer a constant flow but is clotted and stringy - almost resembling rotting blood. I have consulted my doctor and she has said to not receive my next injection and allow my body to balance itself back out. She said this may take months to happen, however I feel I need something to aid my body back into its natural rhythem as the constant bleeding means my boyfriend will not engage in any sexual activity with me. It's effectively destroyed my sex life and is having a detrimental effect on my relationship. Please help.

i too was on the depo-provera injections and had the same problem. my dr took me off of it and put me on a pill. you should speak to your dr about getting loestrin24fe. i had problems with the injections and most pills until this pill the only thing that worked correctly for me was the patch.
