Q: Constant Bleeding after missing Kariva pills

am 20 years old and am on Kariva birth control. I have been taking it for almost a year and haven't had any problems with it. Today it is March 29. I missed the last two pills in week 2 (March 16 and 17) and took both of them on March 17 very late at night (I usually take my pills early in the morning). The next day I started heavy bleeding and expected that me missing my pills triggered my period. I continued taking the Week 3 inactive pills, bleeding every day. I thought that because I just had my "period" this week, that I should just start a new pack so I did not take my Week 4 pills and started taking a new pack. I am through Week 1 of my new pack and am still having heavy bleeding! What should I do? I am scared I messed things up very badly! I know my situation is rather complicated, but I would really appreciate advice!!!! Thank you.

Same here. I changed my pill from microgynon 30 a couple of months ago to cilest. But a week into my third pack i got a stomach bug and I was very sick for about a week and so i dont think much of my pill was absorbed. I've had breakthrough bleeding which i expected but it's been going on for about 2 weeks now and getting heavier. Bit worrying.

I am on Kariva too andI have had this EXACT same situation.

Even though this is months later, here is something that really works out well for me when I miss a couple of pills.

Your period will start if you miss to days. It will happen. Once you start bleeding, just skipp ahead and take the "period pills." The pills you take the week of your period. Just take those and at the end of that week, just go back to the white pills you take when you are not on your period; the hormone pills. Then just take it until the pack is out and start a new pack and you should be back on schedule.

Everything should sync up and you will be fine. good luck

Yeps! I did that and it worked:D When i realised the bleeding wasnt going to stop any time soon, i just took my pill-free week (or what would be the placebo pills in the 28pill pack). So today i'm not bleeding for the first day in over 2 weeks!
