Q: Consequences of epidural anesthesia
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 22nd, 2008
Is it normal for the Epidural site still to be sore after 40 days of having it? If not what problems could I help the doctors address and diagnose and treat? (so that way I can ensure them that it will be covered by insurance). Thank you for any information I can pass on to my doctors so I can get treated before my insurance runs out (3 months after delivery I get covered).
Sincerely,
Rabeka Jo

Back Pain Answer A4845
Current medical status: My epidural area still feels bruised bone feeling

Current medical treatment: No doctors are giving me the time of day to acknowledge this issue and I don't know if its normal to have this feeling and am frustrated because the doctors wont let me know if this is normal or not.

It doesn't seem normal to feel pain on the place where epidural anesthesia was injected 40 days after the procedure.

It is not easy to claim that the epidural injection is responsible for the pains but this is one of the possible options. You can’t expect doctors who made the procedure to admit this possibility and to accept their responsibility. You will need very hard evidences if you want to blame them.
