was born on May 16th, 2008 at 6:06 PM. He weighed 8 lbs and 8 oz and was 20.5 inches long.

My water broke around 3 AM and I called the OB. She told me to go to the hospital, so we waited a little while, packed up and went. We got there around 3:45. Long story short, I was ruptured so they gave me fluids through an IV and broke my water completely.
About an hour and a half later they started me on pitocin. A couple hours after that, my contractions became pretty strong and they suggested that I order the epi as soon as I wanted because it can take a while until they can come and do it, so I ordered it. After the catheter was in place, I could still feel my contractions about an hour after, so they pumped some more drugs into me and a while after, I could no longer move my right leg or turn over by myself. My contractions were apparently strong, but I wouldn't know. Wink

I dilated about a centimeter an hour, and my labor was around 13 hours long. When it came time to push, his head was so low that by the second push, we could see hair. I asked for a mirror and every time I pushed I would look. It motivated me so much. They took the mirror away to make room after about 4 pushes, though. In total, I only had to push 11 times, but I also had an episiotomy. Just when I felt like I couldn't push any longer, they told me his head was out, and I started bawling. After the suctioned his nose and mouth, they told me to push one more time and he was born. Smile

Meet my son!

Here's a couple from yesterday:

I really love him a lot. He's wonderful, and the sleepless nights are totally worth it. I still can't believe he's here.

I hope everyone is doing well!
