congestion, wheezing, vomiting and diarrhea Posted: 02-01-08 17:21pm
I was wondering if anyone might have some
insight for me. My children have been
going through a series of ailments for the
past 2 years now and their doctor only
tells me that it is a re-occurring common
cold. But they have the same exact
symptoms as they did last year and the
same exact things are happening.
Starting in late September and continuing
thru early May my children develop very
bad sinus congestion and post nasal drip
along with severe chest congestion and
wheezing. These symptoms are always
accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea. The
vomiting and diarrhea follow a cycle of 12
hrs sick, 12 hrs well, 12hrs sick, 36 hrs
well, 24 hrs sick. The congestion in their
noses and chests lasts for 5 1/2 weeks.
Then they are usually well for 6-12 days
and then the cycle starts over again. Al
three children are prescribed a nebulizer
for the severe wheezing because their
breathing is so difficult at night. It is
hard to answer if they get a sore throat
with these symptoms because their ages are
1, 2 1/2, and 5. The oldest does get a
sore throat with everything else, but the
other 2 cannot communicate whether or not
their throats hurt.
I have been diagnosed with chronic Strep
throat, which the doctor says cannot be
contagious, but I can't help but feel that
I can the cause of my kids being sick. I
really don't believe that I am not
contagious. Every time they get sick my
strep acts up (usually about 3-4 days
after the first signs of sickness in my
kids). My husband is unaffected by any
symptom.
Again if anyone can offer any insight I
would appreciate it. I am sick of everyone
being sick.
