Hi,

I am a 39 year old lady having two kids. I am bit over weight. Last 2 months I am feeling congestion while breathing. This is very random. It comes & then stays for a while & then clears off on its own. I do not have any cold or cough. I am a hypothyroid patient & takes thyroxine 200 mcg every morning. This congestion feeling comes any time regardless of time or condition.

I visited the doctor, he is telling that it may be the early symptom of Asthma & he gave me the following two medicine:

1. Flixotide (fluticasone propionate) Evohaler 250 mcg twice a day
2. Ventolin Evohaler (as & when required)

I am taking the above two medicine for last two weeks but not much improvement. In fact now the duration of the congestion feeling is increasing.

Can you please help me to suggest whether the diagonosis is correct or not. My parents do not have any asthma. Only my maternal uncle had it when he was a kid.

Regards,
