Ok I had my period July 31. The 1st day was just some spotting. Then, Aug. 1-3 it was fairly heavy(normal i guess). On the 4th there was nothing during the day but from the evening on to the 5th there was drips here and there. Then it was over. But my concern is about cervical mucus/discharge. According to all the articles I have read after your period you should have none or very little cervical mucus/discharge for at least 3 days. But the same day my period ended i used the restroom and when i wiped myself there was alot of discharge(enough for me to really notice). It was fairly sticky,egg-white and had a wierd smell(well it was wierd to me). I have had unprotected sex several occasions before my period. I also had very sore breasts on July 26-28. Since then my nipples have just had this cramping kind of feeling. And I did get a few terrible cramps(Aug.6.) I took a pregnancy test July 28th but it turned out negative. So what do you think is going on???

****The smell isnt terrible it just has a smell.
And it isnt as thick now....its kind of like how i would be if i was ovulating but it is way to early for me to be ovulating

****i also went to the gyn/ob last week but they told me to call in next week for results.

I doubt you're pregnant (because you had a normal period), but if you're still worried you could take another test to ease your mind. The discharge could be the sign of a yeast infection, or maybe just normal hormonal changes in your body. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

If you don't want to become pregnant I'd recommend using a form of contraception like the birth control pill. It's a lot easier than worrying about becoming pregnant every month.

If you've never tracked your cervical mucus before, there's no point on relying on it now. Every woman has different signs, and it takes a long time for you to become acquainted with how your body reacts to hormonal changes.

So you got your period, you're probably not pregnant. If you've been having unprotected sex, I'd wait until two weeks after the last time you had sex and take a test... if it's negative, don't worry about it.
