Q: confused about ovulation - how frequent?

hi, my confuse about my ovulation my last period june 8, 09 i messed up on birth control so, the doctor told me not to start my pills til i get my next period. i was told that on june 22,09. i went to my gyn. because i recieved a positive pregnancy test on june 17,09 . but the blood test came back negative. now, that i remember the last time i had unprotected sex was june16, 09. what are the chances of becomeing pregnant; since then we've beeen using the pull out method. since i was on birth control last month (lutera) do i ovulate right away since i'm off for a month? what are the chances of being pregnant? how long does sperm last in side a women ? my last period where april 8, 09 - may 9, 09 - june8, 09 . i;m confused about ovulation is it every 14 days or every 16 .? ( i am i mother of two boy 5,& 2) helpplease. thank you

You've got a lot of issues going on here: messed up birth control, unprotected sex, pull out method- all of these can result in pregnancy.
It is possible that you ovulated even though you have only been off birth control for a month.
Sperm can live inside a woman for 72 hours/ three days.
After the egg is released from the ovary, it can survive for another two days inside the woman. Ovulation takes place approximately 14 days after the start of a menstrual period.
