condom broke, and my girlfriend just started birth control.

During sex the condom broke, I pulled out immediately and didn\'t ejaculate. I urinated also before sex which I\'m told cleanses sperm from the urethra and my girlfriend just started birth control. She is only 5 days into it however... how likely is she to get pregnant?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Since you passed urine before sex, and did not ejaculate in your girl friend, chances of pregnancy are almost nil. If your girlfriend started the pill on the first day of her period, then chances of pregnancy are almost nil also. However, variations do occur, and if in doubt or if your girl friend misses periods do take a pregnancy test. Hope this helps. Take care!
