Q: Conditions related to ovarian cysts and pelvic fluid
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 26th, 2009
I have 3 weeks of constant abdominal pain, back pain, nausea, and dizziness. I was told I have cysts on my ovaries, but was also told could not feel any cysts nor could they see them on the ct-scan. My ct-scan showed cysts on my liver and kidneys with free fluid in the pelvic area. Which I was told is common and very routine. I am taking birth control pills even though I had a hysterectomy as they "think" that will help my so-called cysts. The pain, nausea, and dizziness are not going away. What can I do or where do I look for medical help?

Have a diagnosis for the current condition: no
Current medical status: blood work, ct-scan, pelvic exam
Current medical treatment: birth control pills

You didn’t explain why exactly your uterus was removed. What was the medical report after the surgery?

Birth control pills may help about the ovarian cysts but may also cause nausea and dizziness as a side effect.

Ovarian cysts may be common but liver cysts, kidney cysts and free fluid in the pelvic cavity are not so common conditions. It must be revealed where that pelvis fluid is coming from. You could consult an internist about your condition as soon as possible.
