I am 29 and I am a mother of 4 young children and very active I might add. I had the mirena put in June of 2010. I am been feeling sick and tired al the time but in the back of my mind, I get the feeling that I am PREGNANT and my husband does not believe it is possible. After 5 weeks of sickness I finally went to the hospital and they told me to go to my doctor and get the mirena removed quickly. The ultrasound show the baby growing prefectly. I am now 16 weeks pregnant, should I be concern me and the baby?
Welcome to ehealthforum.
If the ultrasound showed good growth of baby, it should be fine. It is not uncommon for women to get pregnant while IUD is still inside. Be in regular follow-up with your doctor. Go ahead with a scan done at 20 weeks or later to rule out possibility of any anomalies in the baby. Maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water and fruit juices.
