My husband and i are trying to conceive. We tried last month in what was supposed to be my fertile time. My period was due 6/9 and I started bleeding 6/9. However, I only bled that day and was mostly done bleeding that night. Me period usually lasts 4-5 days. I am not completely regular, but have been the last 3-4 months. I am also noticing discharge.
Conception is possible on your ovulation day. Your ovulation day (the day when the egg is released from the ovary and is ready for conceiving) can be calculated when you subtract fourteen days from the expected start of your next menstrual period. For example, if your last menstrual period started on June 9, 2009 and your menstrual cycleâs average length is 33 days, then your next menstrual period is supposed to start on July 12, 2009.
When you subtract fourteen days from that date, you will have the approximate date for your ovulation which would be July, 28 or 29. This method might be inaccurate if the menstrual cycleâs length varies. You can successfully overcome this problem by having intercourse several days in a row. Having intercourse every day for several days before and several days after the calculated ovulation day is recommended.
Please note that the presence of an infection (for example, Chlamydia or fungal infection) might interfere with the conception making it less probable. Therefore, you might want to visit your gynecologist for a physical examination, vaginal smear, and hormonal laboratory tests.
