Okay here's the story... My period were very heavy and long (about 7-10 days at norm). They have been that way since my very first period. so technically my last menstral period (normal one) was on Feb. 19, 2008. Then my boyfriend and I had an accident with a condom slipping and I went to get the "morning after pill" -aka- "Plan B" or "The 72 Hour Pill". That was around March 6th. Then, 2 weeks later the condom breaks! So I go and get the "Plan B" again. Both times I took the pills less than 24 hours after the accidents. I had a very light period around March 24th that lasted about 5 days. Still took the pregnancy test (just in case) and it came out negative. Then I had another period on April 8th, and it was also VERY light and only lasted 3 days. Still taking the pregnancy test every week, still negative. Until, May 12th I took a test and it read positive. So I had to take another to make sure it wasn't a dud. It also came out positive. So I took another in the morning, another positive... Yes, I am definantly pregnant.
So I go to my first doctor visit and they ask when my last period was and I try to explain this whole story about my periods being very heavy then all of a sudden very light, but they wanted the last time I bled, so I had to give them my April period. I have a due date at Jan.13, 2009. My first ultrasound also said that my baby was bigger than normal for his gestational age. And I'm still curious as to if the extremely light periods matter or not. My mother and grandmother had their period up to 6 months into thier pregnancy. Is that hereditary? And could I be farther along than the doctor says?
It's had me wondering for a while, so I could really use some help. Hopefully this post makes sense and isn't too long.
Please help.
Thanks, June.
