i am a healthy 25 year old male i had a pain that shot up from my neck to the back of my head almost like something rolled and popped i went to the ER and all my labs were normal they also did a brain ct they cant back abnormal the neurologist sent me home saying he sees these abnormals all the time since then for 2 weeks i have pressure in the back of my head that goes away with motrin i had a follow up visit today and he now wants a mri of the brain and mri of the cervical and really never said what he thinks it is im really freaked out

This is actually something I see frequently, especially in people who sit at desks in front of computers a lot. When the vertebrae in your neck are not moving properly and become stuck, it basically throws off the proprioceptive input that goes to your brain.


This, along with the associated poor posture causes the muscles in your neck to tighten and cause pain. You may or may not feel the pain in your neck, but you are mainly feeling it in your head.


I would suggest seeing a doctor of chiropractic to see if this is something that can get cleared away without drugs or surgery. Good luck, let me know how it turns out!
