My partner is 26 and had a bad motor bike accident when he was 23 and broke his left femur in 3 places, one was a compound fracture the other was just a break and the other snapped the ball off the top of the femur – he now has a rod through that bone and he also fractured his pelvic in like 7 place and that has been repaired by titanium plates. He also fractured his right femur and shattered both knee caps. He is constantly in pain and sleeps maybe 3 to 4 hours a night if he’s lucky. He doesn’t like taking drugs for the pain as it makes him sluggish and out of it. Is there anything I can do to help him? I hate seeing him in constant pain and always tired and stressed form it.

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah and welcome to ehealth...I am sorry for the pain of your partner...There is only so much that modern medicine can do to put us back together again...From the way that it sounds, your partner is lucky to be alive...Good luck...

Caroline
