Hi and Welcome to eHealth!
You could have caught a bacterial thing....try gargeling with a mixtures of 2-3 capfuls of hydrogen peroxide mixed with 8 ounces of water. Gargle wiht this perodically throughout hte day. This will kill any bacteria in your throat and make it feel better. Or, you're not gonna like this ,but it also works...eat a big spoonful of yellow mustard. The vinegar kills of bacteria as well. This very well could be just a coincedental thing. Maybe you didn't catch anything from kissing him. Its possible you already had a cold lurking in the background! Hope this helps you! F*GM
