So I went on Cipralex about 2 years ago. It's an antidepressant that is prescribed for both depression and for anxiety. I initially went on it for anxiety because I used to have social phobia and panic attacks. I recently decided I didn't want to take it anymore though...I have overcome my social phobia and panic attacks which is why I started taking them in the first place and I find it such a pain to take them everyday (I forget to take them all the time, I figure that can't be good). Also, I didn't really plan on taking them for the rest of my life so I decided I'd stop. So i've been doing it gradually for the last week and a half and have been off it completely for the past 4-5 days. The problem is, I've been feeling really crappy since I've stopped taking them and I'm not sure if it's the side effects or if this is just how I am. I'm very mood swingy. I'd say. I've tried coming off of them twice in the past 7 months but then started taking them again because everytime I come off them I start feeling really depressed and I find myself becoming very upset over minimal things. For example, my boyfriend just told me he is going away for the entire weekend coming up which upset me and I instantly just started crying. I know this is not something worth crying over yet I feel so angry and upset that I can't help it. Other then the being emotional thing, i'd say I have no other withdrawal symptoms. I'm worried if this is not a side effect of coming off of Cipralex and me as a person am just very emotional. My dad has been on antidepressants for years and my mom started about 2 years ago but stopped and is too stubborn to take them again. I see a difference in her now after stopping taking them. She seems to become angry very fast and is very negative and I'm afraid I'm the same way but Cipralex has helped me become less like that. I've been on Cipralex so long that I don't even remember what I was like before I started taking it to know if that's just always the way I was. I'm so confused and I hate being this way. I feel so out of control. Has anyone else experienced this coming off of Cipralex?

You just have to wait it out. Do not take that that medicine for now. Maybe you could try a fish oil supplement or a good multivitamin, you might feel alot better.
