Q: 26 colonoscopy polyp and ulcer

Is it normal for someone my age to already have a polyp? They removed it and I am unsure of the size but was told I should get the results within a week or later of the biopsy. They also performed and endoscope and said I had a stomach ulcer but that I did not have an infection like most do. They prescribed prevacid. I am scared of colon cancer my grandfathers on both sides had it. (survived) My father keeps getting pre cancerous polyp growth (removed of course)

Do polyps and ulcers have any relation to each other?

Is it normal for such a young age to experince them?

Why do I have to go every three years now?

Why did they biopsy a piece of the stomach ulcer?

Thanks everyone this has been a frustrating time. I been having bleeding, exhaustion without anemia, dizzyness, undigested stool. It has been one thing after another!

If there was colon cancer running in both sides of your family you should do regular colonoscopies to prevent colon cancer in you. Every colon polyp should be removed and examined. You can request genetic testing, too. Colon polyp can be found at any age but in some people, that are genetically determined, polyps can be found more often than usually.
The stomach ulcer is probably not related to that polyp. Biopsy of the stomach ulcer is done to exclude stomach cancer.
