My friend was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. The lymph nodes in her neck were positive for cancer "likely" of the GI tract. The biopsy of the mass they found in her colon came back negative. Her MRI is clear but CT shows numerous nodes in her abdomen.Because the colon mass was negative, she is afraid she is getting the wrong chemo. The doc said because of what the nodal biopsy showed, the treatment regimen was correct Anyone have any ideas? We are working on a 2nd opinion. She is only 48.Thank-you

It is difficult to answer your question, because I am confused by the information that you have provided.

How was the diagnosis of colon cancer originally made? Did your friend have a previous colon mass biopsied, and that confirmed the diagnosis of colon cancer? If not, and this "colon mass" that you describe is not cancer, then I do not see how she could have been given a diagnosis of colon cancer.
