Q: Collecting stories about medical abortion

Hello, I had a medical abortion earier this year and I bled for 2 months. It completely disrupted my life. On week three, I was passing clots and soaking more than one pad per hour. I went to hospital to be treated dismissively. I had my abortion done and they told me I only had to take a couple of days rest before I could resume normal activity.

Clearly, I could not resume normal activity even weeks after, because sometimes the bleeding was so heavy that it gushed through the pad and through my trousers. The disruption and emotional effects of such a prolonged process have been particularly detrimental to my life.

I think women deserve the right to be appropriately informed about the effects of a medical abortion and not told that it should take a few weeks at the most and you will only need a couple of days rest. For this reason, I have decided to write a feature on this subject- the differences between what the professionals say and what it is really like.

Women deserve to know the reality of what they may face.

I have read a lot of stories on here that suggest that things turned out much worse that expected or informed. I want to hear your story. I am looking for women in their early 20s to mid 30s. It has to be a medical abortion (i.e. taken the pills). Please email me at joannevellul@googlemail.com

Kind Regards,

Joanne Ellul

I actually got an actual abortion (DNC) because i was informed if i took the pill it could take up to 3 months and the bleeding and clotting varied.. i was only 2 weeks along so in my head the pill would be a quick pass but the doctor scared me by saying it could be up to 3 months.. she said nomally its 6 weeks but it is said to be 6 to12 weeks.. the dnc was very quick painless and only bled a tiny ammount for 4 days

my daughter has had the dnc type abortion, she has bleed for nine weeks and past clots or tissue the size of my fist.she is emotional scared forever and is haveing night mares and flash backs of killing a baby! evrything was fine for 6 weeks even though sha was still bleeding heavy and in constant discomfort but after that went into pain and fever of 104 degrees! no other doctor would she her and no other hospital because they were in fear of malpractis. she is currently at 10 on her hemaglobin and at 8 will need a blood transfusion!Im not saying i dont believe in abortion but they shoold be handled by your own doctor or let him recomend one ! these obortion clinics herd then in and out all day long and do not care about any of us! Now they are telling us to take cytotec 200mg to open her cervex and contract the urterus to expel whats ever was left in there by there own mistakes! im scared to death because i know the dangers of this medicine and she has already had a cesection with a prior child so her uterus is not strong as it should be! God be with us....i am so lost as what to do for my daughter....no one deserves this!
