I am having surgery tomorrow (laparotomy and removal of abdominal wall endometrioma) and have just got a cold sore on my lip. Can I still have the surgery? It will be under general anaesthetic.

Herpes and Genital Warts Answer A4747
Current medical status: Cold sore

Current medical treatment: none

It doesn't seem likely that a cold sore on the lip is a contraindication for a laparotomy.
