cold feeling
my guess is that it has something to do with dust/particulates in the air which irritate the throat

Can anyone who replies to this mention if they take fish oil?? I have been taking high strength (1000) fish oil capsules one a day for years. I recently stopped all supplements and after two weeks, the cold minty sensation has gone. Coincidence??

I have a new theory I think it has to do with an excess in air element (research ayurveda). I noticed that going to sleep before or at 11:00 greatly helped

I get the same feeling. It lasts for days or weeks at a time. I first noticed it while working around fence stain. It came back whilee working around freshly stained hardwoods and again in a freshly painted kitchen. I am curious if it is an allergy or an overexposure symptom. Either way it is the exact same feeling everyone has mentioned, it also occurs In my nose. Any answers?

Cold feelings in mouth and nose can be caused by many things..hypothyroidism, hormonal issues and anemia are the most common reasons. If you know that you already have one of these issues..it is more than likely that. If you do not know, I would ask your doctor to test for them. Keep in mind that sometimes doctors will say blood work looks normal even when its not. Often times unless your results are dramatically out of range, they will ignore it. Do not be afraid to ask for copies of your test results. If you look at the results and things listed are too high or low ask your doctor what may be the cause. If MCH is high on your blood test (CBC) you may consider supplementing with B-12 and Folic acid as deficiency of these can cause anemia. If your RBC is low, you are more than likely a little anemic in which case you may need iron or B vitamins or both. If MCH is high RBC will be low. Ask your doctor. The same goes for thyroid and hormonal issues, which go hand in hand. If they are a little out of range, that is still enough to cause symptoms. Keep in mind that hormonal issues cause many issues including anemia. When your hormones are out of range it can throw everything else off.

@petermilligan. I too am out of breath n cannot even walk up one flight of steps. Im a teacher n i get out if breath just teacing. U should get thyroid checked by an endocrinologist. Not ur primary. An endo will run every thyroid test bcause sometimes levels cone back normal but an endo will also check ur pituitary which is tied to thyroid. My ither post is below. But the out if breath is so frightening n im very athletic but cant do anything but sit now.

All the same symptoms for me too. Have had these symptoms on and off for 20 years, I am 42. It helps to put my head under the covers and breath in the warm air. Right now it has been worse than ever and has included coughing which has not been in the past. X-rays showed something there, Doc wants me to return in a month for more x-rays to see if better or worse. Sounds like they need to do a study on everyone posting here. I have been asking doctors about this for 20 years with no real responses because they didn't recognize the symptom.

Dripping in mouth, menthol feeling in mouth, nose, and eyes
I only had two episodes of menthol feeling in nose, and one time it came down over my eyes. But my other symptoms are making me a crazy women. Has been going on for over 2 months, actively. Dripping in mouth, from what seems to be site of new crowns, then heavy fluid comes in sheets in my mouth. The third phase in the burning phase. and the most uncomfortable.. Flashes in the cheeks, can't sleep, constant and unrelenting mouth symptoms. I have been to all sorts of dentists, had 2 ct scans, heavy metals test, blood work, cultures. NOTHING. I strongly believe it has to do with crowns, as a few week after, I started this "sucking of my teeth". I am finding some relief here and there. It will even nearly go away a few times, but come back in a breath. My quality of life is diminishing.

Hello all, I know this is an old post, but I'm just wondering if anyone every found the cause or atleast does anyone know how to make it go away?

I have had this cold feeling, when I inhale, like ate a whole box of mint cookies or halls cough drops, lol.

Very annoying! Eating salty crackers, seems to help, goes away for quite awhile, but always comes back and lasts days, to weeks.

I would be very grateful for suggestions and things to try to make it go away!! =)

Menthol burning tingling face, horrible
I have been having a very strange facial sensation which I can only describe as my eyeballs, cheeks, forehead, top lips and gums feel like a jar of methnol vapour rub. My forehead feels like a hot and cold Niacin (Vit B3) flush and, my cheeks feel like they are tugging at my lower eyelids downwards and someone is blowing menthol vapour into my eyeballs. All the while feeling tingly on the skin. When I breath through my nose, I am yet again breathing menthol hot/cold vapour out of it and the sinus are really dry but only in my head, if I touch, they are moist.

At night, I am conscious of my teeth, gums and lips as if they were made of a minty fresh and my mouth is really dry. Even if I had a mouth full of water, my mouth is still so dry.

about 5 weeks ago I gave up smoking cigaretted and haven't looked back. about 2 weeks ago, I had colonic hydrotherapy, don't ask, it was the new me clean out I suppose which was going to start the healthy life along with getting back in the Gym and stuff.

I'm 40 years old, male, 12 stone (not overweight), 6' 2" height and otherwise feel fine - it's just my entire face area, wow, it's horrible and its been about 5 days so far. I have googled symptoms and find all sorts of posts where it seems close but then find it is menapause or polymyalgia which I'm pretty sure it isn't for me.

Please advise what I should do next, very strange! Thanks
