I was wondering what a normal white blood cell count is for someone in phase 1 of CML is? My mother was recently diagnosed with the 1st phase and had a count of 145000 which jumped up into the 200000's in a few day. I don't know anything about this disease, but this a) seems like a very large count for an early stage, and b)seems like a HUGE jump for just a few days. Any help would be amazing for me. Thank you very much.

By definition, most patients with CML will have an elevated WBC. Moreover, a patient's WBC can vary considerably from day-to-day.
