My sister has an acne problem since long ago probably five years or more. She is 23yr old now and about to get married soon probably in the winter but she is so much worried about her pimples. She has started going to her PCD probably more than a year now for this. PCD perscribed her "fougera Clindamycin Phosphate" to apply on her face and "Doxycycline Hyc 100MG Cap" to consume everyday. When she uses the medicine her face gets a little better but not whole alot. She is now so much fed up with the medicine that she has to take because it's making no difference on her face but yet the consumption one causing some health problems in her. Also, when she stops taking them for like 1-2days her face gets so full of pimples again. She gets so depressed because she feels like she has to bear this all her life and nothing will work for her face. Please tell me what should she do to clear her face up?

She should try to see a dermatologist and get a different medication. Not all medications work for everyone, or they wouldn't need so many of them. Has she tried other medications? Birth control pills? Retin-A?

How bad is her acne? If it is cystic and causing scaring, she may consider Accutane. The side-effects aren't anything to sneeze at, but the results speak for themselves. I used it more than 6 years ago and my skin is still clear.

Even while using an acne medication, she needs to make sure to avoid things that will clog her pores. Tell her to only use products that say non-comedogenic or "won't clog pores"--"oil free" isn't good enough. Even after the Accutane, if I use regular products on my face, I get breakouts. Also, tell her not to use heavy makeup (I know it's hard not to when you want to cover things) and to clean her face no more than twice a day.

If she wants to get her skin clear for the wedding (who wouldn't?), tell her to ask the dermatologist about laser treatments. They are kind of expensive and don't last very long (a month, I think), but they would help clear things up for the big event.

I hope she finds something that works for her. Tell her not to give up on it.

There is also a product called Differin that works for some people really well. It is perscription medication your doctor would know about.

Yes, she has seen a darmatologist and she was perscribed with a strong medicines. Some she had to consume and some apply on her face. She started doing that but after some days she felt heartburns and her face was feeling like it's buring from the medicines she couldn't handle it more so she had to quit the medicine and she just went back to her PCD. PCD also tried on her different medicines they work but only when she keeps doing it regularly. If she stops for like some days she would get the pimples back again.
Something to let u know that she also has very severe mentrual pain and cramping during her periods. Her periods are so irregular never on time. Is there any relationship in her periods and acne?

Yes, her acne is really bad and it's really causing scaring on her face alot.

She has tried different medicine as menstion above but not birth control pills. She is virgin and I don't know if it's okay for her to take them.

Hope this gives u a better idea of what's her face like and what she has done for her face so far.

It could be hormonal, and birth control could help her. It doesn't matter if she is a virgin or not. She can still take them. Better to get her started before the wedding.

Rather than taking pills that can cause other effects that she may not want, maybe she can try Therasol. I have just started using it myself and it does seem to be working although I'm not sure if the results would be long-term as of yet. this treatment was featured on BBC and sold on visol.com i use this and also use a good face wash daily.
