I have been tested for STD's recently, all of which came out negative. I have also visited my doctor, and though she hasn't seen them prior to being "popped" she said it looks like a simple rash, and I don't need to see a dermatologist.

Well, I think she's wrong. Problem is, I can't possibly take any more time off work to see a dermatologist at this time. With my current healthcare provider, I need to get a recommendation from my current doctor prior to visiting a specialist. Taking time off on two days will more than likely put me on thin ice. It's sad that I have to sacrifice my health for a job I hate.

Thus the reason I'm posting here. That being said: This seems to be a recurring problem. I thought this was a rash due to my training (very active physically). I haven't been able to visit the gym the entire week due to allergies, and they have just appeared yet again. This makes me think to rule out the "rash" possibility.

The bumps themselves are very tiny (approx 1mm in diameter), and come in small groups on my foreskin (once on the rim of the head), separated 2-3mm or so apart. They have a clear top, with irritation around them, and occasionally itch -- typically on contact.

They seem to be fragile, and if popped, they secrete at clear fluid (looks like water). Eventually they will scab over, and disappear on their own. This has been going on for several months off and on, and I'm getting desperate for answers. Please help.

Ok. Your problems can range from anything to a skin infection/Irritation all the way down to type II genital Herpes. I myself have been in a questionable relationship in the past where I knew I was not the only person having unprotected sex with my partner. I got to experience waking up to take that morning leak only to look down and much to my horror I see: Like you said. Small bumps on my penis! They come in little clusters of two or three and usually always appear on the rim or the head. This has happened twice in my life so far in about a six-eight month period. On a positive note they always seem to go away after the application of time as well as popping them (Painfully! The tip of your penis is terribly sensative!) and setting that clear fluid free from it's flesh avarice helps too it seems. They have a rash like quality and are easily Irritated by touch or even the fabric of my boxers made it uncomfortable to walk. (I went commando and wore silky smooth gym shorts to alleviate that problem.) It can be a traumatic experience! Not only does it put you on the sexual sidelines but it messes with your confidence. The whole ordeal can sober you up faster then getting shot. I dont know about you but I tended to my penis like it was a sick and injured puppy. I can tell you are a busy man but if you value sexual wellbeing, And by that I mean yours and others! You should see a Dermatologist! If you dont do it for yourself then do it for Johnson! Even Herpes can be treated. And if you have ever had an Abscess or a very bad Boil you know things can be much worse! There are many STD'S out there that ravage the body and leave beautiful young people lost and distraught. It is a frightening reality. one in every four women has a STD nowadays. It's a reality that makes me buy condoms now. And I hate condoms. I hate using them. But I simply just cannot run the risk of doing more damage then has already been done. I pray you find out the answer to just what exactly it is that is ailing men like myself and you. I have no Idea what they are personally. I hope nothing Sexually transmitted. I know it might suck but it is not going to kill me. So at least I take comfort in knowing that much. But looking back on it. I never had this stupid problem until AFTER that particular relationship.

Still young, have you been able to get an answer to this? I have the exact same thing and this is the first time I've found someone with the same problem. It is always on the foreskin and always on the same general side and in a group of about 3-5. I have noticed a burning sensation right before the bumps come up and if I clean the hell out of the area w baby wipe or something it seems to go away. If not I can't figure out if it's better to pop them or leave them, either way it hurts when they scab over.

I am suffering from this exact same condition. After some research I thought for sure it was herpes so I got tested... came back negative. Also had the doctor examine the bumps and he acted like it was nothing to worry about but did not suggest what it may be.

It always shows up on the underside of my penis just below the head in a small cluster. It is often itchy and red right before the bumps show up. Then they show up and are kinda painful. Whether I pop them or just leave them alone they always end up scabbing over and then just disappearing. From the time I feel the first itch to the time its all cleared up is about a week, maybe a little less.

This is really freaking me and my girlfriend out (she has recently tested negative in an STD test as well) and would love it if someone could explain what this is.

Man I first got this when I was 16. I freaked I thought I had herpes. Slept with 2 girls week prior and wasnt too clean or protective about it. I went to hospital and I was fine they callled it rhumdus orsomthing with an r. Im now 27 and and it just happened again and a cheating lived one is on me and my girls mind but I had to tell her. I have not cheated on her hope she isnt but its the same. Clusters with clear liquid, not too painful but loojs ugly right on 4skin. Doctor then said usually a sensitive area usually the 4skin threw rugburn, threw my case,(pants handjob), or this recent time a sharp tooth during a blow in the shower then alot of sex after without cleaning. If u have a senitive spot during sex or masterbation iy is best ro keep it extremely clean and stay away from sex until its healed or just always be clean due to allergies and weak ammune systems. I posted above last year and I still have this recurring from time to time. My girlfriend just had it appear on her now too, so its not just sensitive skin, its something contagious but that does not show up as any STD in a test. What the hell is it??

It's HSV2. HSV2 has to be specifically tested for otherwise it won't show up on your typically blood work. I learned that the hard way. About 12-15 years ago I got some bump on the head of my penis and got tested and nothing showed and this happened roughly 3 times over the years. I have been tested on a yearly basis and everything came up nill. It wasn't until my girlfriend told me she was diagnosed with HSV that I got that specific test.

Clear genital bumps
The first time I had this was 2001. Being 2012 I can say that the Dermos and the GPs have no idea what it is...
From the very beginning, I had it around the foreskin area then the base of the penis where my pubes 'should' be (ahem) and I eventually had some appear around my anus. For your information, I've never been the victim of anal sex before. After the first month of these curious things showing up, my wife had a similar effect. But 'her' clear spots were much more aggressive and larger. Immunity dependent on the individual I'm guessing. Over about 10 odd years I could probably count on both hands and feet the amount of times these clear bumps have come in to my life. I've inquired about this over the last few years and I've heard that it could be a type of bacteria which resides in semen which sound plausible because the bumps usually appear not long after sexy games. They can appear anywhere where the skin is sensitive (usually in the most hottest parts in your undergear).Word of advice. It's probably not a good idea to ejaculate on your girlfriend's face if you have this...because I'm told that there's no long term cure!

Look for a product called "ZEVIN CREAM" it's inexpensive and it bloody works. Instantly!! Pop them first if you can, then use ZEVIN. Itching immediately subsides. You may have to use it over the course of 2-3 days then it's gone. Not for good unfortunately. If you can't find "ZEVIN CREAM" ask your pharmacist about the active ingredient/chemical used to make ZEVIN. It is called "ACYCLOVIR"< Good luck.

the unfortunate truth
i would say the most likely causes are

Herpes 1 or 2
prostatitis or just inflammation of the prostate
male yeast/fungal infection
its unlikely its just irritation if its goes on longer then a few weeks

you cant accurately test for herpes till 4 months have passed for blood work or an immediate swab of the liquid
has to be taken

prostatitis needs to have an anal exam to test

and a biopsy will be needed to test for everything else

unfortunately all of these things cause the same problems wich makes it hard to tell,,,a big problem is doctors wont even check for herpes unless you ask,,,i know because i have been dealing with this myself for a year,,,still no answer,,iam getting a biopsy in a few days and will know for sure,,,iam not looking forward to having a scar on my penis because the peace they will take it a large size and will hurt Sad ,,,iam hoping its not herpes

The good news, gentlemen, is that most of you seem to be describing symptoms of fordyce spots; which are not dangerous. Mostly effective treatment is sanitary practice but if you'd like to go a little further I recommend punching "Fordyce spots" into Google and do a little research. Hope this helped.

yes i agree,,some of these are probably fordyce spots,,but if they re breaking open and healing with a scab its not fordyce,,won't progress to an ulcerated area like herpes does - they tend to stick around unchanged where as herpes would have a definite appearance, ulceration and then healing and normal skin within 1- 3 weeks.
