Q: Circular dry patches of skin

I've notice occasional itch in my genital area and when inspected see small circular patches of white flakey dead skin, usually smaller then a pencil eraser. When scratched, the dry skin flakes off leaving a shiney circular surface underneath. It's never really red or anything, and It usually just goes away on its own.

I have HPV and have dealt with it for about 6months now.

Are these related considering they never appear like the warts I've had?
Also, my girlfriend has been dealing with a burning for a while now during sex. They gave her Valtrex for 10 days to see if it could be HSV even though the swab test was negative (3 days later no improvement yet).

Any connection?
