I'll try to make this quick and easy to read, here goes. 3 months ago I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, this may or may not be significant. No problems for a couple weeks there after outside of normal swelling. Then one day I felt as if my throat was closing up on me all of the sudden and I felt like I had a big golf ball in my throat. I know this sounds like gerd but it progressed to other non-gerd like symptoms. Over time it turned into a chronic tight throat with a feeling like I couldn't swallow very well. My throat stays chronically red and enflamed. Then one day my ears began hurting like I had an infection in them but I didn't. It almost felt like thin inner ear part were being pulled downward. The symptoms then kept coming: burning throat pain, a gnawling feeling in my upper chest and around my addams apple, on again off again numb/burning chin, burning chin in front part of neck, pressure in throat like the back of my throat was coming forward, shooting pains in front of throat, burning in chest, burning in arm pits and front side of my elbows (the flesshy part), hot sensations on body parts. I have had the following tests all of which came back fine: mri of brain, ct of neck, chest exray, barrium swallow, upper ent scope, and multiple blood tests including thyroid lyme and others. I can go some days with little discomfort then other days with all of the above. I have a gi scope later in the month. I have been to the ent twice and the gi doc once even though I strongly feel like this isn't a gi problem. I have been on ppi's for reflux for a few weeks with no success and I am skepticle if I have it. I can eat literrally anything I want and have no heart burn or reflux what so ever. Nothing is triggered by eating. In fact, the symptoms seem to feel better when I am eating. I am at my whits end here. It has ruined my summer and my family time. I have been a healthy 31 year old male with only slight high blood pressure till that one day in April and its been a nightmare since. Anyone that could offer up something useful I would greatly appreciate it. -Bennett Young-

wisdom teeth
Hi,

Did you take antibiotics after you had your wisdom teeth out? If not you could be suffering from an anaerobic infection. Also, have you looked into TMJ? Ask your dentist about it. I have been suffering for 3 months with all the symptoms you described, turned out I had an anaerobic infection from my wisdom teeth and had TMJ. I'm on antibiotics now and I have noticed a difference, the TMJ is a separate issue and needs to dealt with but at least I have a direction now, the worst thing is not knowing. Good luck and hope you discover what's wrong.

I have the EXACT same problem!!!
I have all of those symptoms. The reason why I'm up at 4:00 in the morning and never went to bed is because my throat is so tight right now. I've had every single one of those tests too. This is freaky. All the doctors keep telling me it's acid reflux and/or asthma and/or allergies. None of the medicines have made it better tho. I'm on Nexium, Nasonex, and Asmanex with no difference is symptoms. My symptoms started back in September so I've been dealing with this forever. I hope we both get out of this soon.

Hi there
I had the same problem.... tests, doctors, ER twice, more tests, scans and swollows, antibiotics, antiacids, throat doctor, gi doctor, weight loss, choking feeling ilke a hairball in my throat, sleepless nights, panic attacks, chest pains, hysterics etc..I was going for more to University of Chicago when smb suggested anti anxiety drugs. The magic pill CELEXA. All my problems went away in a month..I was on it for a year, now I am drug-free again and feel fine.
My doc told me some people have anxiety completely without any reason( I had one-lots of stress at work)..The throat doc said they can inject some drugs to relax the throat, muscle relaxing drugs may help, antianxiety, glass of wine , yoga...
It is amazing what stress can do to your body..I cant believe that is all that was wrong with me..
