Hi. I've been suffering with chronic tension headache for atleast 10 years. I have a moderate pain that usually starts from the moment i wake and gradually increases as the day goes on. The headache can be aggravated by any stress, excersise, bright lights and also using a computer. I have tried many different medications and therapies with little progress. I also struggle with anxiety and depression which i do think is hightened by the headaches. The pressure from the headaches causes me to feel off balanced and dizzy. These symptoms have a huge affect on my work and social life. Fortunately i have some great friends who have been very supportive. From what i've read tension headaches appear to be a grey area in medicine. I personally believe its linked with tension in the neck and shoulders.
If anyone is aware of any remedies for this issue please let me know. Thanks.
I have been there so i know how you are feeling.I still suffer some anxiety which i am takin meds for(Ativan). 2 yrs. ago i was having off-balanced feelings and dizziness and i was a hilo driver at the time.so driving a hilo feeling that way was very dangerous for me.i went to to doctors and he diagnosed me with Vertigo which i also took meds for(Antivert). made an appointment with an ear, nose and throat specialist and they put me through a number of tests. I ended up doing physiotherapy excersises for get rid of the vertigo.Something you might want to check on.good luck!
I mentioned this in another thread. Have you been checked for vitamin deficiencies? Some people lack certain vitamins even if you take them your body may not absorb them properly which can lead to some other problems, such as headaches, anxiety, vertigo, etc..
I've been having headaches for several weeks now, which I'm happy to say is very rare for me. I think it's related to my neck and shoulders being tight and sore. And I think that soreness is due to spending long hours on my laptop, using the scroll-pad versus the desk-top roller mouse. I don't seem to tolerate pain-killers or muscle-relaxers, or other medications well, so I am looking for some ideas related to more natural ways to ease the stress and tension in those muscles. I've come across a device called 'head and eyes massager stress relief device'. It incorporates warmth and air-acupuncture massage around the eyes and neck,as well as earphones for soothing music. Right now, as another tension headache is drilling down into my shoulders, it sounds like heaven!
