Hello everyone. My name is Vince and I'm new to this forum. I'm 18 years old and I've been struggling with Otitis Externa for about 4 years now. I used to have perfect ears with never having an ear infection or anything. But I have gotten glasses when i was about 14 and found out that it felt good putting the arms of my glasses inside my ear to itch them. Well I started getting ear infections and then was diagnosed by my doctor that i had otitis externa. He gave me cipro HC suspension. From what i read on the internet it was some type of steroid. Anyways that helped somewhat but if i didnt use it everyday the next day it would come back. So i've gotten another prescription this stuff seemed to work a little better. I could use it about once every 2 days without my ears bugging me somewhat. It always is a little irriratating. I am forced to wear ear plugs in the shower which do keep the water out but also irritate my ear while there in. This has been an ongoing event. I've been having these problems everyday for 4 years now. The doctor said i'll have to take this medicine for the rest of my life. Which is alright but I need something that acually works and really want it to go away. I looked up natural remedies which included garlic juice, olive oil, lobelia extract, colloidal silver and mango leaf juice. Have yet to use any of these since i just looked them up today. The symptoms that i have are wetness in ear, itching, Crusty stuff after the wetness drys and ear infections about once a month. I'm just looking for anybody with suggestions or people who faced my dilema and found a way to fix it. It really sucks having this problem and I really just wish that it would go away. Oh and I also have a good diet if anyone is wondering I'm 5'10 135 pounds and excercise reguarly. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you very much.
