Chronic Nausea and vomitting, I have lost 73 pounds

I could not believe that I found a nausea forum. Perhaps there are other people like me!!!

At Christmas I woke up one night and proceeded to vomit for hours. At the end of that blood actually came up. Since then I have severe nausea and have been living on boost due to a huge problem keeping food down. I have lost 73 pounds and the doctors I guess are not concerned as I could lose another 35.

An interesting thing is that I have chronic strep throat. No doctor thinks that an issue but I sure wonder if it contributes. All my tests have been normal other than slight motility issues and my GI tract is full of benign polyps.

Thanks for listening, I will come back after sleeping to do some research.

I have had horrible issues with nausea for 11 years, and it all started with strep throat. It's interesting that you have chronic strep...I know that other people out there have had issues with nausea after getting strep, so I'm sure there's a link. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be much of research done on the tie between them. Every time I've mentioned it to a doctor they ask if I could be pregnant and then shrug it off. I hope you have better luck in discovering the cause of your nausea--it's really nice, as you said, to know that I'm not alone!

Wow
Do you have nausea every morning? I have to vomit every morning and I also had strep throat a while back almost 12 years... Doctors don't know what is wrong with me...

Hey - thanks for the response. I just hit my doctor with the possibility of their being a connection and he said he wants to hear of more people with the issue so I will bring up your post.

Do you struggle with keeping solid foods down? I am on boost and catch strep or other infections monthly and a friend suggested I am malnourished.

You're very welcome! Well, I don't necessarily have trouble keeping foods down--I have nearly mastered the art of not actually puking. I generally just struggle with the urge to purge, so to speak. But I tend to be nauseous whenever I eat, as well as after I sleep, shower, exercise...or do just about anything. I vomited more in elementary school, but I have since learned to control it much better. I hope that helps!

Nauesa all the time
hello all, I have similar symptoms as you all and have been dealing with it for about 11 years and I am on a regime of medications called antiemetics to help, though they just take the edge off. I'm in the process of creating a website/forum where we can talk, learn collaborate and maybe draw some attention to our illness to the medical professionals out there. I heard there is a guy "house'esque" in Minnesota.

The website , registered today 10/5/11 with godaddy is waisn.org or why am I so nauseous. I will start with my story, post, medical test, and dianosis all they way back to 1999 in hopes that someone picks up the interest and wants to investigate us and see if they can help this growing number of people.

if you wnat to email me you can I'm open for questions since I've seen mayo, cleveland, watson and university of florida CVS specialist.

catch me on the Gmail under jackierobertsonjr.

hope to hear from you soon....jr

Over the counter I'd try dramamine less drowsy with Ginger powder tablets from gnc. Then I'd say see a gastrointestinal doctor they might give zofran (there is generic) available for cheaper. You need to rule out anything serious like gastroperesis so* ulcers gerd and others first.

Chronic Nausea/Vomiting
Oh my gosh, I tend to be nauseous after everything you mentioned too. My breakfast already came up. I don't know what's wrong with me. Initially, I attributed to stress/nerves ,but now I'm not so sure.I'm nauseous or vomit almost daily...sometimes multiple times a day.

Vomiting
If u throw up to much u could rupture a blood vessel and bleed to death.. so be careful and don't strain.....also if u vomit to much it will rot away ur esophagus and die because u would not be able to breathe any more....please keep this in mind and I hope for the best of all of u.
