I am a 25 year old caucasian female. I am in good health, but have some odd ailments. Apart from living with stomach and digestive issues my whole life, I have terrible lower back pain with sciatica ( i see a chiropractor), i get a very strange hand cramp, (i call it lobster claw) when I am out of breath, excited, nervous or hungover. I get numb, tingly, cold and white/purple feet and lips at any given time, I also have an indentation in my nose (on the bridge) Its almost like a hole. I have been to a ENT specialist, but he recommended that I have a biopsy, and with all this, the medical costs are crazy.

All that said, I wonder if any of it is linked???

I can remember my parents giving me laxatives when i was 4 , the kiddy chocolate ones. They said it was because i "wouldnt" go to the bathroom. I have now figured out, it was because I couldnt!

For years, I have always been the girl known to be gassy. On any given day, i could be constipated (for days) have diarrhea for hours, honestly, anything could really happen in that vicinity, its the luck of the draw. I often will have bad pains in my left shoulder when i am gassy. My stomach will distend from a 31 inch waist, upwards to 50! It looks like i am pregnant. The gas, bloating, and general feeling of being completely uncomfortable is a part of my daily life that I am almost used to. I know that i cant eat more than 4 forks of pasta, or more than 2 beers, or eat spicy food on an empty stomach .Sometimes it really stops me from having a normal life. My doctor prescribed me Amitiza to take daily. It helps, but its not great.

My worst problem is the chronic pain I will get every 2 weeks or so. It will come from anything. I cant pinpont it. There arent any special circumstances to cause it. Within approx 2 minutes of the first mouth full, I know its coming. It is the most debilitating constant pain. Its as though a knife is travelling down my esophagus. I feel every second of the digestive process. Its usually a 7 hour process. I feel like its constricting as it happens, almost squeezing. As it goes down, I can feel where the food is. I feel it in my intestines, and every other part of my body where it is travelling. The upper to middle abdomen is where its stays the longest though. I know it will go away, but there have been a few times where the emergency room has seemed like the logical option. A lot of the time, its so bad I will sob with the pain, and i have a very high pain tolerance.

When this happens, I cant walk, I am doubled over, or in the fetal position. I HAVE to be lying down. Its a bad bad constant pain, and then a wave of even worse will come. There is nothing I can do about it. Nothing. This has been going on for years and years, and it gets worse everytime. When it finally reaches the area in which its going to be expelled, I cant go. Then I get gassy, bloat up, and my stomach distends. usually its a good couple of days before i can pass anything.

If any one can help me, it would be so appreciated. I have had an abdominal cat scan and drank that nasty white stuff. Nothing turned up on that. I have tried 4 different prescription drus too. I am having the Pipida scan in 2 weeks, so we shall see.

Let me know if you have any ideas or thoughts Smile

According to your chronic digestive symptoms (diarrhea, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, etc.) you could be experiencing Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). IBS is a functional disorder which means there isn't any structural damage of the digestive system. IBS is often stress related and there are some stress symptoms in your case. But to diagnose IBS all the real organic disorders of digestive system should be excluded first. You already made CT-scan but you may also need few more diagnostic procedures: abdominal ultrasound, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, microbiological examination of the stool, occult blood test, standard blood analyses etc.

Drs. often misdiagnose Celiac for IBS. I have Celiac and suffered from very similar symptoms. I would get checked for celiac or food allergies.
