i am 30 weeks pregnant . my doctor has asked me to take "shelcal 500" tablets for calcium supplemention. From the store i got "calsoline" tablets. The compositon and colour are exactly the same for both these medicines. The difference between the two are in manufacturing and marketing places, the price and an additional statement written on calsoline tablet strip which says "appropriate overages of vitamins added to compensate any loss on storage". Are the two kinds of medicines the same and can i substitute calsoline for shalcal 500?? will using calsoline affect my pregnancy in any way??

I would think there are more nutrients that you should be making sure you are getting which are involved with the correct absorbtion of calcium, D3,magnesium, zinc, copper, B vitamins, folate even natural salts, these & more are involved & i wonder if your doctor should also put you on a multivitamin, this is the most important time for nutrition for u & bub. Don't forget to hydrate correctly & interesting reading is vital functions of salt in the body, do a web search for this.
