My mother has MS and has recently become completely dependant on her electric wheelchair. She is experiencing some loss of the movement in her hands. She has been told by her neurologist that she has done well till now and should expect it to get worse! What he said has had a terrible effect on both my mother and father, She feels like giving up, which is not her at all. I have been researching diets and vitimin suppliments on the net and am a little confsed as to what to do. We feel that it is now time to start to take matters into our own hands....if we can try then we will try anything to help her symptoms. If you have any advice or have had any success please can you help us.

Try the anti-inflammatory diet. That's what my neuro recommended and I'm doing OK.

What are her symptoms?

For a neuro to say that she will get worse is terrible. Of all people h/she would know that MS is an unpreditable disease of he CNS .. keyword unpreditable.

I used a cane for a while and just like that...haven't really required it since. It's not to say that at some point in time that this will change, either temp or perm...

Is your mom Relapsing Remitting, Primary Progessive or Secondary Progressive...the latter two will get progressively get worse but if she is on a disease modification drug...should slow it down.

Does she take any injections?
