agz,
The values vary a little, but in general the guidelines are:
Total Cholesterol -
Below 200 is desired
Above 240 is considered high
LDL (the "bad" cholesterol) -
Less than 100 is optimal
Above 160 is considered high
HDL (the "good" cholesterol) -
Above 60 is good
Below 40 is low
Triglycerides -
Below 150 is considered normal
200 is high
But, it takes 500 to be considered very high.
So, overall, the results are pretty good. Your triglycerides level is great as is your HDL level. The total and LDL are borderline, but not bad.
You should watch the saturated fats in your diet. Try to reduce these some and that should take you through your life. Speak with a dietician if you want to make any drastic changes, before doing so.
You should really speak with your physician and discuss these results with him/her. Your physician knows your past medical and family history and has access to your examination. Results of any test should be correlated with the patient's history and physical.
Good luck.
