Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

Cholangiocarcinoma is considered to be an incurable and there is no potentially curative treatment except surgery, but most patients have advanced because of this inoperable disease after diagnosis.

If the tumor can be removed surgically, patients may receive adjuvant chemotherapy or radiation therapy after the operation to improve the chances of cure.

You should discuss these treatment options with your mother's hepatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
