Well, I didn't feel any of my congestion clearing up after I had finished the medication and I called my doctor up. He said to give it a few more days. Well, I waited and waited and all of a sudden my throat swelled up to the point where I was having choking sensations whenever I tried to eat anything. Swallowing liquid was even a difficult task.

Here I am, three weeks later-with nothing but chicken broth and tomato soup in me. I managed to get to the doctor this past Tuesday and he said I have acute pharyngitis. He prescribed me amoxycilin and prednisolone (my apologies, I don't have it in me to spell these properly right

Hey friend, if you start to feel worse go back to the er.
It should take about a week to kick in, and know that the prednisone will make you hungry and moody. Once you finsh your coarse of treatment maybe see and ENT to check for other issues. Throat swelling get to the er no waiting ok ww
