A week ago i had a surgical abortion..on the day of the procedure a few test were offered to me for free ..one of them was a chlamydia test..i agreed to it..today a week after the termination..i was told that my chlamydia test has come back positive..I have been with my partner for the last 2 years..before him i was in a relationship of 11 years..my current partner told me that he had chlamydia a few years ago but was treated and not tested again or had any checkups following his treatement.. I have had a baby who is 20 months old now.. My concern is..that i do not know how long i have had this for if i got this from my current partner or my previous partner.. a year ago i have had symphtoms which i thought was thrush and i treated this with a thrush cream which helped right away.. Id i got this from my first partner than i could have had it for over 12 years..is this possible..and has it done damage to me..i had a baby boy who is healthy ..could this have affected him and been passed on to me and how would i know if it had..i was 7 weeks pregnant when i had the surgical abortion last week..i got pregnant by having sexual intercourse only one time in that month..so this is telling me that i have no trouble getting pregnant..how can i find out how long ive had this chlamydia for and if i also have PID and damage to my falopian tubes? please help me ..thanks so much.

It's possible you caught it from your current partner, if he did not go back for a check-up. Sometimes STIs don't cause any symptoms, and can stay undetected for a while. Speak to your doctor, to put your mind at rest.
Good luck,
