Q: Chlamydia detection

I was just told that I had Chlamydia today. My dr answered all the questions that I asked her but I am still confused about some of her answers. Here are some questoins that I would like answered again.

I got a pap smear in Jan this year. Would they have detected this STD IF I had it at that time?

I also had an abnormal Pap Smear so I had to to go back in in March (09) and get a colosp?????. At this time would they have detected this STD IF I had it then?

I started prenatal care about a momth ago and they did a test again. I am not sure what test it was that they did, but they did take some sample from inside my vagina. Would they have been able to detect it then if I had it at that time?

I went in a week ago and they took fluid sample from my vagina, this is what tested positive of Chlamydia. Is it possible that I just got Chlamydia or is it possible that my partner could have had it for a year and just it was just detected on me?

My parter cheated on me twice last year. Once in March (0Cool and once in April (0Cool. Is it possible that he got it from one of those times or is it unlikely that he got it at that time and just now gave it to me?

I just recently noticed that I am getting unusal discharge. I am pregnant so I thought it was because of that. It started about a week ago. Is it possible that he might have gotten this STD recently and just gave it to me?

How long can a person go without showing any symptons of Chlamydia?

from what I know
Hey there,
Congratulations on being pregnant! From what I know, it is almost impossible for him to have had chlamydia for a year and for you to just have gotten it so recently. What I can tell you is that you did not have it in March- it would definately have shown up in the pap you got in march. About the prenatal I don't know what they test for exactly so I can't help you out on that but the good thing is that you found out and that you get the antibiotics. As for the rest, I'm sure you can figure out. Sorry to have to tell you that Sad but good luck with it all
